First of all, I don't care who you are.... no one goes year-round without 'cheating' on their nutrition plan. And by cheating, I mean saying the hell with it and just eating like a jerk. If someone says that they don't, they are probably just embarrassed by the fact that they do it too - because we are all human!

Some people cheat here and there, others cheat multiple days a week and just can't stop.
So, what's the root of the problem? Restriction.
Any form of counting calories and restriction will eventually cause someone to get mentally burned out. If you are trying to eat clean and find yourself constantly cheating, then that plan is wrong for you!
I strongly emphasize finding something that works for you and your lifestyle. There is no cookie cutter approach to getting fit and having a coach that tries to convince you otherwise will just set you up for failure.
Some people who cheat will just try to up their output or drop their calories extremely low the next day. I do not recommend either of these approaches because it promotes binge eating and starving.
Instead, you can add some extra sets to every exercise over the next 2-3 days to take advantage of the extra food. This creates a positive approach rather than berating yourself for making a mistake. Work those muscles using the energy sources you have!
This is not a license to cheat, it's a realization of what to do when it does happen because, let's face it, this doesn't just happen once. Understand that health and fitness is a lifestyle and you should reward your body in ways that motivate you.
